Smartcard Details

ECKOcard™ Overview

  • All ECKOcards™ have an integrated NFC chip embedded inside the cardstock allowing for quick and seamless scanning.

Smartphone Compatibility

  • Almost all modern smartphones after the iPhone 6 are compatible with current NFCs.
  • However, you need a relatively recent version of Android or iOS to take advantage of the latest NFC capabilities.
  • The functionality of NFCs with iPhones updated to iOS 13 (and later) is very similar to that of Android smartphones.
  • The iPhone XS, XS Max and XR can natively read.
  • Older models of iPhone will require an app to read as well.

ECKOcard™ Surface

  • Polyester matte which provides a rich image look and smooth feel to the touch, light scratch resistance, light liquid protection, low glare look for easy readability.

Card Sleeve Fit

  • ECKOcard™ fit snuggly in a standard sized card sleeve like Dragon Shield Matte sleeves.

  • All of our cards are handmade, with love, so expect slight variations.

Card Care

  • Keep your ECKOcard™ in a cool, dry location and out of direct sun for long periods of time.

NFC Chip

  • Chip: ICODE SLIX / SLIX 2
  • Material: Non-PVC PET

NFC - Scan Distance

  • Contactless Activation: ECKOcards are used just like contactless payment cards (read: ApplePay), with no physical contact needed to activate.
  • Hover Distance: 1-3 inches from the card
  • Hover Duration: 1-3 seconds
  • No Tap Required

NFC - URL Encoding Length

  • 250 Characters in length (maximum)

NFC - Reprogramming

  • ECKOcard™ NFCs can be re-programmed tens of thousands of times!
  • For NFC Tag programming, an application is required. We recommend a program such as the app "NFC Tools".
  • Alternatively if you need additional assistance, we can reprogram your card for you right here with our Reprogram Form
